Miuccia Prada took over her family’s small luxury goods company in 1978. Her first product: “The Vela” a flat top, nylon backpack which widely popularized Prada.
Her 1988 fall and winter collection was her first fashion line, pivoting her career as a designer.

Prada was often hailed as the “intellectual fashion designer. She despised this title,, preferring to only be intellectual

One of her most famous collections is her Spring 1996 “Ready-to-Wear”collection, which she dubbed “Banal Eccentricity.”
